A few things have remained constant throughout my time on earth. My love of soccer,
design and staying curious about the evolution of technology.
My earliest memories of design are making soccer wallpapers as part of an online group of designers
from
around the world. I never thought I’d being doing that same thing that brought me joy and energy as a kid,
every
day for my career.
Over time that curiosity has led me to the world of front-end development and keeps me thinking
about
how things I design representationally are technically built as a product for people to use. You can
hear me speak more about this from a
few podcast episodes I've been featured in.
* Devign = Design + Development. I try to
use
the word “devign” as much as possible to breakdown silos during experience design phases.
After studying abroad in London and graduating from the University of Delaware with a BFA in Visual Communications, I moved to Philadelphia unemployed and ready to find the job that suited me.
My first professional accomplishment was creating the logo mark for the 200th anniversary of the Academy of Natural Sciences.
At this point, I felt like I had made it, but I still didn't have a full-time job. A few interships and contract roles later, I landed my first full-time job as a designer at the pharmaceutical advertising agency, Digitas Health.
I would go on to develop into a senior designer over the next 6 years at Digitas, working with many amazing people on a variety of design projects. I even designed a deck of cards.
As my interest in UI/UX and product design grew, I moved on to work at Think Company, where I am in my current role as a Principal Experience Designer.
I've grown in so many ways both professionally and personally at Think Company. In addition to focusing on design systems and operations, I've also been fascinated by organizational culture and ways of working. The pandemic has drastically changed the way teams collaborate and we continue to experiment and strive for ways to adjust to the new reality.
And that brings us to now. You chose to be here out of all the places on the internet and for that I am grateful. Thank you and enjoy!
